Kwande Stakeholders Hail Chief Samuel Ortom for Exemplary Leadership and Zoning

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) consensus Governorship candidate for the 2027 Benue State election, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa SAN, on Thursday led a high-powered delegation of stakeholders and candidates from Kwande and Ushongo Local Government Areas to commend former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, for his purposeful leadership.

The delegation expressed deep appreciation to Ortom for what they described as fair and equitable zoning of the governorship position to Kwande, as well as the return of the Senate seat to the area after years of political struggle.

Speaking on behalf of the Kwande people, Elder Jonathan Chaver and Elder Boniface Ukende thanked Chief Ortom for fairness and justice in the recent political arrangements. Chief Mrs. Veronica Gajir, representing the Ushongo people, also commended him for his commitment to equity and inclusive leadership.

In response, Chief Ortom reminded the gathering that “a man receives nothing except it is given to him from above,” and urged all candidates who emerged victorious to reconcile with their co-aspirants, promote unity, and work collectively for success in the upcoming elections.

The highlight of the occasion was the formal presentation of key candidates to Chief Ortom. They include: Hon. Moses Mkeenem, the House of Representatives candidate for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency; Chief Bemgba Iortyom, State Assembly candidate for Mata State Constituency; and Hon. Bemsen Abugu, State Assembly candidate for Mbagwa State Constituency.
