The Executive Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government Council, Hon. Shaku Justine PhD, has once again demonstrated his commitment to youth empowerment as he graduated more than 500 trainees from a comprehensive skills acquisition programme held in Tor Donga, Utange Council Ward.
The ceremony, which took place on Tuesday 12th November, marked the successful completion of training organised in partnership with Doo Event and fully sponsored by the council chairman. Beneficiaries, mostly youths and women, were equipped with practical, income-generating skills ranging from tailoring and soap-making to carpentry and catering – all aimed at improving livelihoods and reducing poverty in the area.
Speaking through Zaki Aondohenba Ukume of Utange District on behalf of the Shitile Traditional Council, the royal father praised Hon. Shaku for the life-changing initiative, describing it as proof that the council chairman truly has the people at heart. He urged the chairman to sustain the momentum while calling on the community to continue supporting his administration.
The Principal of Tor Donga Science and Technical School, where the programme was hosted, expressed profound gratitude, stating that he had never witnessed a local government chairman single-handedly sponsor such a large-scale empowerment scheme.
Hon. Chila Aondofa also commended the chairman for consistently delivering development to the grassroots and urged residents of Shitile and Katsina-Ala at large to rally behind him.
In his remarks, Hon. Shaku Justine thanked Governor Hyacinth Alia for his unwavering support, especially in the fight against insecurity and the restoration of peace across the region. He equally appreciated Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo (member representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency), Doo Event, facilitators, and participants for their dedication.
The council boss charged the graduates to take the training seriously, assuring them that the skills acquired would add real value to their lives. He urged youths to shun violence, embrace peace, and allow development to thrive, while reaffirming his readiness to continue restoring the lost glory of Shitile land through people-oriented projects.
On his way back from the event, the chairman made an emotional stopover at Sati-Harga in Mbacher Council Ward to console the family of Late Pa Tyotee Ihindan, praying for God’s comfort upon the bereaved.
Hon. Shaku was accompanied by the First Lady of Katsina-Ala LGC, Hon. Mrs Dooshima Shaku; Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Tiza Benjamin; Hon. Augustine Avaan (former council chairman); and other top political stakeholders.
