In a major boost for Tiv cultural unity, the Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council, Hon. Maurice Orwough, has officially thrown his weight behind the 2025 edition of the Kyegh Sha Shwa (KSS) annual cultural celebration.
The endorsement came this morning when the convener of Kyegh Sha Shwa, Rev Fr Solomon Ukeyima, paid a courtesy visit to the chairman at his private residence in Makurdi.
Receiving the KSS team, Hon. Orwough commended Rev Fr Ukeyima for sustaining an event that continues to bring the entire Tiv nation together in peace, love, and cultural pride. He described KSS as a powerful platform for showcasing Tiv heritage and fostering unity among sons and daughters of the Tiv nation both at home and in the diaspora.
The Guma council boss promised to mobilise maximum support for the forthcoming celebration, assuring the organisers of his administration’s full participation and backing.
Kyegh Sha Shwa, now in its fourth year, has grown to become one of the most anticipated cultural events on the Tiv calendar, attracting thousands of participants from across Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Plateau, and beyond.
With political heavyweights like Hon. Maurice Orwough openly endorsing the programme, expectations are now sky-high for what promises to be the biggest KSS celebration yet.
Tiv nation is ready.
