Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with faith-based organizations for sustainable development. This came as the government flagged off the foundation-laying ceremony for the proposed 10,000-seat NKST National Auditorium in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.
The ceremony, held at the NKST National Conference Site in Amaafu, was performed on behalf of the governor by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Benjamin Ashaver. He described the project as a milestone in the administration’s infrastructure agenda and a fulfilment of a promise made by Governor Alia to the NKST church.
Dr. Ashaver assured that construction would begin immediately and expressed confidence that the facility would be completed before the next NKST Annual Conference. He noted that the auditorium would serve as a major national venue for conferences, worship, and large-scale events, while the government plans to provide complementary infrastructure such as a hospital, electricity, and other public facilities in the area.
The State Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Mr. Stephen Numbeve, assured delivery of the project according to approved specifications and within the stipulated timeframe. The President of NKST Worldwide, Rev. Dr. N. A. Adule, JP, and other stakeholders commended the governor for the support and pledged continued prayers for the administration.
