Gov. Alia Inspects Galleria Park Under Construction by BIPC

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has inspected the ongoing construction of the Galleria Park, a major recreational and business development project being undertaken by the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC).

The Governor, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of work at the project site, commended the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, CFA, and the artisans working on the project for their commitment and attention to detail. Governor Alia described the Galleria Park as a large recreational facility that would provide a conducive environment for families while creating employment and business opportunities for the people of Benue State.

He said the park would combine natural beauty, cultural heritage and social life, adding that the project was part of efforts to recreate and preserve the beauty and identity of Benue culture. “It’s a very large park that will serve families, employ Benue youths and create businesses. It will come with natural beauty, connect with our heritage, natural life and the social life of our people. We are recreating the beauty of our culture,” he said.

The Governor also commended Dr. Asemakaha for the enormous work being done to transform government assets and assured that the Galleria Park would soon be commissioned. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to equipping young people in the state with practical skills, urging Benue youths to take advantage of the presence of foreign artisans, particularly Korean artisans working on the project, to acquire new skills. He directed the youths to identify skill gaps and learn from the foreign experts, stressing that such knowledge could provide them with opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.

Earlier, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, said the Galleria Park was designed to create more than 200 direct jobs in the state. He explained that the project was part of BIPC’s broader strategy of identifying and revamping moribund government assets to make them productive and economically beneficial to the people. He said BIPC was determined to bring recreational and business facilities available in Abuja and other parts of the world closer to the people of Benue. “We want to bring things that we have in Abuja and other parts of the world so that people can have them here in Benue. We want to hold our money here, and very soon we will commission it,” he said.

The Galleria Park is expected to provide recreational, commercial and social opportunities while contributing to job creation and the economic development of the state.
