Super Falcons star Francisca Mlumun Ordega brought inspiration and hands-on training to young female footballers in her home state as her foundation launched a two-day clinic in collaboration with Saudi club Al-Ittihad Ladies at McCarthy Stadium in Makurdi, Benue State. The event, which began on January 4, 2026, featured enthusiastic participation from girls aged 14 to 18, along with local coaches eager to learn modern techniques.
Photos shared by Ordega on social media captured the vibrant first day, showing groups of young players in colorful kits warming up, receiving instructions from coaches, and engaging in drills on the field. The initiative, organized through the Francisca Ordega Foundation and supported by her current club Al-Ittihad Ladies—where she plays alongside fellow Nigerian Ashleigh Plumptre—aims to nurture grassroots talent, promote women’s football, and provide pathways for aspiring athletes in the region.
Ordega, a forward born in Gboko, Benue State, and a veteran of the Nigerian national team, has long been committed to giving back to her community. The clinic emphasized tactical awareness, skill development, and empowerment, drawing praise for bridging international expertise with local opportunities. As the program wrapped up on January 5, participants and organizers expressed hope for more such events, highlighting Ordega’s role in uplifting the next generation of female footballers in Benue and beyond.
