Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh, the immediate past Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, has claimed that one of the reasons for his removal from office was his exposure of an alleged inflation of the Wurukum–Air Force Base Road rehabilitation contract from ₦28 billion to ₦68 billion.
The statement, shared widely on social media by Tivta Samuel Aondohemba, was made during Dajoh’s recent 50th birthday celebration. In the accompanying video, the former Speaker is seen addressing supporters while holding a microphone, with a woman in traditional attire standing beside him.

Dajoh maintains that his opposition to the reported contract inflation, along with his refusal to support the relocation of the Tor Tiv Palace from Gboko to Irugh, contributed significantly to his ouster by Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.
The allegation has added fuel to the ongoing political controversy in Benue State, with many residents closely following the claims of financial impropriety and internal power struggles. As of now, the Benue State Government is yet to issue an official response to these latest accusations.
