The First Lady of Kwande Local Government Area (LGA) and Chairperson of the Benue State Local Government First Ladies Forum, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Neji Sandra, has awarded full scholarships to pupils in five nursery and primary schools in Adikpo, Kwande LGA. The initiative, aimed at supporting orphans and vulnerable children, was announced today.
The scholarship program focuses on providing essential educational support to ensure these children can continue their studies. The beneficiary schools include Immaculate Heart Nursery and Primary School, Mbagba Naney Staff Nursery and Primary School, Edna Nursery and Primary School, St. Peter’s Catholic Nursery and Primary School, and Unity Nursery and Primary School, all located in Adikpo.
Representing the First Lady at the event, the Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman of Kwande LGA (ALGON) on Women Affairs, Hon. Gom Alice, reaffirmed Mrs. Neji Sandra’s commitment to education for all children, regardless of background. She assured that additional schools will benefit in subsequent phases of the program. Head teachers and mistresses of the beneficiary schools expressed their gratitude, offering prayers for continued blessings upon Rt. Hon. Mrs. Neji Sandra and her husband, Rt. Hon. Vitalis Neji, the Executive Chairman of Kwande LGA and Chairman of the Benue State ALGON.
The presentation was witnessed by APC ward women leaders in Kwande, the Director of Varyerk Basic Medical Attendant Institute Adikpo, and other notable stakeholders. This initiative underscores a collective effort to uplift the educational opportunities for vulnerable children in the region.
