The dusty digital streets of Benue State are once again ablaze with drama, and this time it’s a former political heavyweight throwing down the gauntlet. Mkor Aondona, once a trusted aide to a Benue governor, has issued a blistering public warning to activist Zege Orkwande—better known online as “the naked Elder”—over alleged threats against a young blogger known simply as Cardi Blogger. In a Facebook post that’s gone viral faster than a market rumor, Aondona didn’t mince words: step out of line, and the long arm of the law will come knocking.
“To the d’naked Elder Zege Orkwande,” Aondona wrote on November 3, 2025, “this is to inform you that any day you threaten or attempt to threaten or even try anything criminal against that young man called Cardi Blogger, you will be visited with the highest arms of the law.” He didn’t stop there. Aondona claimed he’d already instructed the blogger to keep him posted on any developments, closing with a sharp Tiv jab: “Yem a ijua i Kpen cha!”—a phrase that roughly translates to a defiant “we’re ready for whatever comes.”
The feud isn’t new. Orkwande, a vocal critic of Benue’s political class, has long clashed with figures tied to past administrations. What’s fresh is the intensity—and the public escalation. Aondona’s post paints Orkwande as the aggressor, accusing him of harassment and intimidation toward the young blogger, whose real identity remains shielded behind his online moniker. Cardi Blogger, for his part, has reportedly been on the receiving end of threats that Aondona now vows to counter with legal firepower.
Social media in Benue is buzzing. Some hail Aondona’s stance as a defense of free speech and youth empowerment; others see it as a former insider flexing old influence to silence dissent. “This is what happens when allies turn enemies,” one commenter noted. “The naked Elder has poked the wrong bear.” Another called for calm: “Both sides should sheath their swords before this spills offline.”
What’s clear is that the once-close relationship between Aondona and Orkwande has curdled into a public spectacle. The activist’s “naked Elder” persona—earned through bold, unfiltered critiques—now faces a direct challenge from a man who once operated in the corridors of power. Whether this ends in courtrooms, more viral posts, or an uneasy truce remains to be seen. For now, Benue’s online space is a pressure cooker, and Cardi Blogger sits squarely in the steam.
One thing’s certain: in a state where politics and social media collide like thunder, nobody’s backing down quietly.
