Don’t Resort to Self-Defense, Government Will Defend You – Deputy Governor Sam Ode Tells Otukpo People

Deputy Governor of Benue State, Dr. Sam Ode, has urged residents of Otukpo to exercise restraint and avoid resorting to self-defense amid the ongoing wave of attacks in the area. Speaking during a public engagement with a large crowd, Ode assured the people that the government remains committed to protecting them and restoring peace in the region.

The Deputy Governor’s message comes as communities in Ugboju and surrounding areas continue to grapple with fresh herdsmen attacks that have left many dead and displaced. In the video circulating on social media, Ode addressed the agitated gathering, emphasizing that self-help measures could complicate the security situation.
