A Facebook user, Teryima Faeren Faeren, has questioned the credibility of recent calls by Ukan P. Kurugh for the Benue State Governor to investigate the Director-General of the Pension Board and the Executive Secretary of the Teaching Service Board over alleged corrupt practices. Faeren argued that such criticism cannot be taken seriously by critical thinkers because it appears selective and biased.
According to the post, Kurugh is frequently at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) and maintains a close relationship with the Chief Medical Director of the institution. Faeren noted that many people employed at BSUTH between 2024 and 2025 have been sacked without any justifiable reason, while numerous workers have gone months without pay for no clear explanation. Despite these developments, Kurugh has not written to the Governor on Facebook to demand an investigation into Dr. Hwande and the hospital management.
Faeren stressed that criticism should not be biased, selective or sponsored, but rather objective and holistic. He stated that one cannot ignore what is happening at BSUTH while calling for probes into other government agencies. He recalled personally celebrating with many individuals who received appointments at the hospital, only for them to later find themselves back on the streets. He further questioned why the same hospital continues to employ new staff if the earlier dismissals were truly aimed at controlling an over-bloated wage bill.
The post concluded by urging Kurugh to call on Governor Alia to investigate his boss, Dr. Hwande, or otherwise bury his face in shame.
