A social media personality popularly known as “Tools” of the TOOLS NATION Facebook page has come under heavy criticism following a viral video in which he allegedly made inflammatory statements accusing Tiv people from Zones A and B of involvement in the recent killing of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) Chairman, Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad, in Benue State.
The claims, reportedly made in the Hausa language, have sparked outrage, with many describing them as divisive, baseless, and capable of inciting ethnic tension at a sensitive time.
In a strongly worded reaction, a Facebook user identified as Jack Bullion Tom condemned the statements, noting that the influencer, an Idoma man based in Abuja, has no substantial proof to support his accusations. He warned that such comments could further damage fragile peace efforts between ethnic groups in Benue State.
The post called on the Idoma Traditional Council to invite the influencer to explain his claims under the supervision of the Benue State Traditional Council Chairman, the Tor Tiv, and his deputy, the Ochidoma. It also urged federal and state security agencies, particularly the Benue State Police Command, to invite him for questioning to assist ongoing investigations.
The reaction has gained traction online, with several users and groups tagged, demanding swift action to prevent ethnic profiling and maintain peace in the state.
The killing of Ardo Risku continues to generate heated discussions across Benue, with various stakeholders calling for restraint and thorough investigation by security agencies.
