The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has taken delivery of 166 industrial chiller fridges and six containers of glass bottles to strengthen the distribution network for products from the Food Basket Brewery, including Zeva Premium Beer, Oyi Bitters, and other beverages.
The consignment, which arrived in the state over the weekend, comprises chiller fridges designated for retailers to ensure products remain cold at points of sale, alongside substantial quantities of glass bottles for use in the brewery’s production line.
Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, described the delivery as a significant milestone in the company’s aggressive expansion strategy. He explained that the equipment will enhance operational efficiency, address rising consumer demand, and bridge existing gaps in the supply chain.
Dr. Asemakaha further revealed that an additional 14 containers carrying similar equipment and materials are en route and expected to arrive in the coming weeks. This phased rollout, he noted, demonstrates BIPC’s firm commitment to scaling production capacity and guaranteeing consistent product availability across markets.
The development signals growing confidence in the Food Basket Brewery project, a key industrial initiative under the Benue State government aimed at leveraging local resources, creating jobs, and boosting internally generated revenue through agro-based manufacturing. Retailers and distributors have welcomed the move, anticipating improved stock levels and better preservation of the brewery’s premium offerings.
