Benue State Government Announces Death of Head of Service, Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode

The Benue State Government has announced with deep sadness the sudden death of Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode, the Head of Service of Benue State.

According to an official death notification released by the state government on Saturday, May 2, 2026, Dr. Agbogbo Ode passed away after a brief illness on the same day.

Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode was widely regarded as an impeccable technocrat and a highly respected figure in Nigeria’s public service. He played a pivotal role in the state’s civil service, bringing credibility, dedication, and strategic leadership to the office. His hard work, brilliance, and immense contributions to the Benue State Civil Service were highly commended.

The government described his passing as a huge loss not only to his family but to the entire state.

In the official statement signed by **Dcns. Serumun Deborah Aber Esq MCIArb (UK), FCIPAN**, Secretary to the State Government, the Benue State Government extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, associates, and the entire civil service structure in the state. The government also offered prayers for the repose of his soul.

Dr. Agbogbo Ode had served as Head of Service since 2023 under Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s administration and was known for his commitment to repositioning and modernizing the state’s civil service.
