In a gesture of appreciation, the Speaker of the 10th Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Berger Alfred Embergera, presented a brand-new Toyota Corolla X to the traditional ruler of Makurdi Local Government Area, Zaki Alfred Ukpile, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The brief ceremony took place at the Speaker’s residence in North Bank, Makurdi, where the vehicle keys were handed over to Mue Ter Ihyarev, His Royal Highness Zaki Ajor Simon (DSP rtd.), representing the monarch.
During the presentation, Speaker Embergera described the donation as a token of gratitude for the traditional ruler’s fatherly role and his broader commitment to the welfare of traditional institutions in the state. He emphasized the importance of supporting these institutions for the overall development of Benue.
Receiving the gift, Zaki Ukpile expressed his gratitude to the Speaker, calling the gesture an honor to the throne. He offered prayers for God’s blessings upon the lawmaker, highlighting the mutual respect between the legislative and traditional leadership.
