The Benue State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Paul Ogwuche, on Friday, June 19, 2026, visited the family of Mr. Tyovenda Kator Justine at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi.
Mr. Tyovenda’s wife, Mrs. Sedoo Sonia Kartor, delivered quadruplets — two boys and two girls — on June 6, 2026, at Terkula Clinic and Maternity in Ugbema, Mbagen, Buruku Local Government Area, before being referred to BSUTH for further care.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Cephas Hough, and Director of Public Health, Dr. Joshua Agbadu, the Commissioner presented cash support, Nan milk, and other essential items to the family. He assured them of continued government support, including regular visits and quality healthcare for the mother and babies, while pledging to seek additional assistance from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
The Chief Medical Director of BSUTH, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, appreciated the humanitarian gesture, confirming that the babies are stable and ready for discharge, though the mother still requires further observation. He called on organizations and well-meaning individuals to support the family.
Mr. Tyovenda, who hails from Mbagwaza in Ushongo Local Government Area, expressed gratitude for the support extended to his family. The quadruplets were delivered naturally without a caesarean section.
