A community leader in Benue State, Comr. Andy Nomsoor, has alleged that hired thugs sent to Yelewata to prevent the visit of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi attacked and knocked down one of their youths.
According to the report, the incident threw the entire community into disarray, with residents running for safety and sustaining varying degrees of injuries. Nomsoor stated that tension was mounting as the group appeared determined to cause unrest in the area.
He criticised the local chairman for allegedly deploying the thugs against residents instead of using them to protect the people during previous attacks. Nomsoor described power as transient and urged the chairman to learn necessary lessons, adding that the day of reckoning was not far away. He concluded by expressing confidence that God had not forgotten the people of the community.
