Governor Alia Approves Establishment of Made-in-Nigeria Office, Appoints Coordinating Team

Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has approved the creation of a dedicated Made-in-Nigeria Programme Office in Benue State, along with the appointment of a nine-member coordinating team to drive its implementation.

The new office will serve as the state’s structured platform to translate the national Made-in-Nigeria agenda into actionable, bankable projects that generate measurable jobs, expand industrial capacity, and promote local production. It aligns directly with the Benue State Development Plan 2025–2034 and focuses on packaging and promoting agro-industrial, manufacturing, and SME investments.

The office will be coordinated under the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, with technical support from the Benue Investment Promotion Agency and the Bureau for International Cooperation and Development. Its responsibilities include state-level coordination of the agenda, investment promotion, SME support to meet quality and market standards, and fostering industrial expansion.

The appointments were announced in a press release signed by Chief Solomon Iorpev, Technical Adviser to the Governor on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communication.

Governor Alia wished the team success and urged them to deliver their best efforts to make Benue proud. The initiative is expected to boost local content, reduce import dependence, create employment opportunities, and strengthen the state’s economic base through homegrown production and innovation.

The establishment of the Made-in-Nigeria Office reflects the administration’s continued emphasis on industrialization, youth employment, and sustainable economic growth in line with both national and state development priorities.
