Residents of Otukpo and surrounding areas in Zone C of Benue State are celebrating the rehabilitation of the region’s largest water station, a project credited to Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. The facility, featuring a massive 100,000-liter reservoir tank, has been fully restored to provide 100% water supply to the Otukpo community after years of dysfunction.
A Facebook post by Haakyav Tombu Peter on January 9, 2026, highlighted the achievement, praising the governor for delivering reliable water access to the Idoma people in the north-central zone. The post included images showing workers completing final touches on the elevated tank and associated infrastructure, signaling the project’s near completion or recent commissioning.
Special appreciation was extended to the Commissioner for Water Resources, Chief Odoh Ugwu, for overseeing the initiative.
