Insecurity has once again reared its ugly head in Benue State, as residents of Mbashiha in Tongov, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, were thrown into panic following the brazen abduction of a local man on Tuesday, December 13, 2025. The victim, identified as Mr. Katerna Ayange Ikpa (son), was reportedly kidnapped around 4:00 pm at Tse-Ikpa in Mbashiha by a gang allegedly led by a notorious criminal known as Jugu, said to be operating from the neighboring Kam area.

The daylight attack has heightened fears among locals, who describe the incident as a stark reminder of the deteriorating security situation in Katsina-Ala and surrounding communities. Witnesses say the kidnappers struck without fear, whisking away the victim in full view of residents, underscoring the audacity of criminal elements in the region.
