The Stephen Aondona Uta Foundation for the people of Kwande Local Government has announced the commencement of the third phase of its free medical outreach program. Scheduled to run from Monday, October 20 to Thursday, October 23, 2025, this initiative aims to provide essential medical treatments to the residents of Ikyurav-Ya, building on the success of previous phases in Shangev-ya and Turan.

Hon. Stephen Uta, the founder of the foundation and Executive Secretary, Bureau for Mines and Solid Minerals, made the announcement on Thursday, October 16, 2025, during a series of engagements with traditional leaders, church leaders, and members of the Ikyurav-Ya Development Association (IDA) at Ikyögen, Kwande Local Government. The outreach will address a range of medical conditions, including hernia, hydrocele, and symptomatic fibroid, with delicate cases being referred to Makurdi and Jos for specialized treatment under the foundation’s sponsorship.

During his visit, Hon. Uta emphasized that the outreach, handled by competent medical experts, fulfills his promise to God to assist vulnerable populations and others in need. He urged traditional leaders to encourage community members to participate and benefit from the program. Uta also commended the traditional rulers and the people of Ikyurav-Ya for their support, particularly in tackling security challenges in Kwande and other parts of the state under Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.

The outreach’s impact was further highlighted during meetings with church leaders at St. Paul De Apostles Parish, Ikyögen, where Hon. Uta urged them to mobilize members from various local churches. Separately, he met with members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), commending their support for the party and the current administration, and called for unity under Governor Alia’s leadership to maximize the outreach’s benefits.
