The Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue SEMA) has received a new snake-bite case involving Mr. Stephen Anzua, a resident of Daudu 2 IDP Camp. Mr. Anzua was bitten while working on his farm outside the camp and is currently receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi.
According to Dr. Amos Dzungwe, Benue SEMA’s Focal Person on Health, three of the six snake-bite patients admitted over the past two weeks have been successfully treated and discharged free of charge. With the latest case, four snake-bite patients are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Other health interventions for Internally Displaced Persons and vulnerable individuals remain ongoing under the Benue SEMA and BSUTH Memorandum of Understanding. Benue SEMA has reaffirmed its commitment to caring for IDPs and vulnerable populations across the state.
