New Nigerian Army Formations Established in Otukpo

The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri, FCAI, on Thursday received the Army Headquarters Field Visit and Implementation Committee for the operationalisation of 5 Division, led by Major General R.T. Utsaha, on their second visit to Otukpo within two months.

General Utsaha disclosed that, in line with the Nigerian Army’s expansion and restructuring from eight to twelve Divisions, three new formations and units have been established in Otukpo.

These are Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, 35 Artillery Brigade Garrison, and 353 Artillery Regiment (Air Defence).

According to the council chairman, the strategic formations will further strengthen security, enhance military presence, and consolidate peace and stability across Otukpo and its environs.
