Two suspects in a human trafficking case have been remanded in Yaikyor Prisons by the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi, with their cases adjourned to 29 October 2026.
Christiana Terngu Tsavkaha, also referred to as Christiana Angle, was arrested after an extended search and subsequently remanded. According to statements attributed to the victims, she allegedly trafficked 13 individuals to Ghana for prostitution.
Alex, popularly known as Orgboko, was also remanded at the same facility. Reports indicate that he had earlier refused to facilitate the return of other victims, although two were rescued and reunited with their families. He was rearrested, transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, charged to court and remanded, with the case similarly adjourned to 29 October 2026.
Concerns have been raised that many of the 13 girls involved are minors and remain stranded on the streets of Ghana. Calls have been made for their safe return home and for an end to human trafficking activities in Benue State.
