A social media post circulating on Monday claimed that large numbers of Benue people staged a protest against a figure identified as Asaa Nahanga D Jerry Asom Ayaka Kwaghnji Kombur, calling on him to end insecurity in the state so that residents can return to their ancestral homes and farms. The post, shared by Òr Turan, declared “We no go gree!!!!!” and was accompanied by hashtags associated with viral content.
The accompanying image showed a green-and-white Nissan vehicle surrounded by a group of people on a muddy road. Several individuals in the crowd wore green shirts, with some standing near the car and others holding items aloft. The post framed the gathering as a demonstration focused on security challenges that have displaced communities and prevented farming activities.
While the post used strong language describing “millions of Benue people,” independent verification of the scale of any such protest was not immediately available. The message highlighted ongoing concerns over insecurity in parts of Benue State and the desire of affected residents to resume normal life in their communities and on their farmlands.
