A mass burial for victims of the tragic attack on Efeyi-Utikpi Ugboju in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State has been announced for Saturday, 8 August 2026. According to a public information notice, the ceremony will take place at Efeyi-Utikpi Ugboju, Otukpo LGA, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
The announcement, issued with deep sorrow, informed the general public of the burial of those who lost their lives in the attack and invited friends, relatives, well-wishers and members of the public to join the bereaved families in paying their final respects. The notice listed the deceased as Emmanuel Agwu, Ikpe John, Ameh Fredrick Owoicho, Okpe Philip, Onche Abechi, Sunday Alechenu, Isaac Ejembi, Emmanuel Ejiga, Success Onche, Apeh Samuel, Edache Abechi, Joy Samuel, Abogonye Ameh, Chinedu Ameh, Michael Abalike and Emmanuel Adidu.
Families and organisers appealed for words of comfort and prayers for the departed, expressing hope that God would grant the bereaved consolation, eternal rest to the deceased, and lasting peace and healing to the affected communities. The public has been encouraged to stand together with the families during this period of mourning.
