Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, Affirmed as PDP Governorship Candidate for Benue State 2027

Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has been officially affirmed as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 Benue State Governorship election. The affirmation took place in Makurdi on Sunday during a formal acceptance ceremony where the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation pledged to deliver responsive leadership, security, and economic growth if elected.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Aondoakaa lamented the worsening insecurity and the decline in economic and infrastructural development across Benue State. He promised that his administration would be action-driven and committed to restoring the dignity and lost glory of the state.

“Ours is a Movement to restore dignity and protect lives and property of Benue people and everyone carrying out lawful business in Benue State. Let us move forward with courage, unity, and faith for a new Benue of Peace, Progress, and Prosperity,” he declared.

 

The governorship hopeful expressed gratitude to the Benue State PDP leadership under Chief Samuel Ortom, party elders, stakeholders, and his teeming supporters for the confidence reposed in him. He called on PDP members to remain united, work as one family, and engage in peaceful, issue-based campaigns devoid of bitterness, division, or hatred.

Chief Aondoakaa commended his fellow aspirants for prioritizing the interest of the state above personal ambitions, describing their support as a demonstration of true statesmanship.

The PDP Chairman in Benue State, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, congratulated Chief Aondoakaa on his emergence and urged party members to work tirelessly for victory in 2027. Similarly, Chief Samuel Ortom and Senator Patrick Abba Moro (Senate Minority Leader) described the candidate as a dependable leader who would unite the state and restore Benue to its rightful place.

The ratification process saw Rt. Hon. Williams Ortyom, member representing Agasha State Constituency, move the motion for Chief Aondoakaa’s affirmation, which was seconded by Hon. Isaac Ochekhiye Agbo, member representing Ohimini State Constituency and Minority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly. Chief Tim Eneje, Chairman of the Benue State PDP Governorship Electoral Panel, subsequently formally affirmed him as the party’s candidate.

This development sets the stage for what promises to be an issue-based campaign focused on security, economic revival, and good governance in Benue State ahead of the 2027 elections.
