Hon. Asortar James Asortar, an appointee of Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, has come under heavy criticism following allegations of dishonourable conduct at a lounge known as KMK Academy beside LA VISTA in Lafia.
According to eyewitness reports, Asortar and his friend ordered two bottles of Origin beer, but the waitress mistakenly served them Guinness Stout. While the lady opened the bottles, Asortar allegedly began insulting her when she requested payment. Despite the young Tiv waitress pleading in the Tiv language, he reportedly refused to pay and pretended not to understand her.
The situation was resolved when Mr. Tsegba Philip intervened and paid for the drinks, which cost slightly above ₦3,000.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many calling on Governor Alia’s appointees to desist from actions that tarnish the image of Benue youths. A picture of Asortar’s car parked outside the lounge has also been circulated online.
