Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has recorded massive victories in wards within Katsina-Ala Local Government Area as the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Benue North East Senatorial District continues.
According to results shared by Benue State Network News, Suswam delivered a commanding performance in Tiir-Tion Ward, polling 6,112 votes to emerge overwhelmingly ahead of other aspirants. Douglas Pepe came second with 502 votes, while Senator Emmanuel Udende polled 101 votes. Arc. John Anyom Alananga scored 90 votes, Hon. Fidelis Unongo 21, Prof. Cephas Tushima 20, and Uja Stephen Adondona 10 votes.
In Mchihe Ward, Suswam again cruised to victory with 4,156 votes, further consolidating his lead in the race for the APC senatorial ticket. Other contenders recorded single-digit and low double-digit votes in the ward.
Officials reported strong voter participation, with thousands of accredited voters in both wards. Collation of results from other wards across the Benue North East Senatorial District is still ongoing, with more outcomes expected as the process continues under the supervision of APC electoral officials.
The primary election has attracted significant attention as several heavyweight politicians vie for the senatorial ticket ahead of the general elections. Further updates on the full results are anticipated as collation progresses.
