In a coordinated operation on Sunday, security personnel in Makurdi arrested a suspect identified as Terer John, who is alleged to have sold the synthetic drug known as “Doom” to Mali for three million dollars. The arrest was confirmed through a statement shared on social media by an official familiar with the operation, which noted that the suspect had been tracked following earlier intelligence.
Authorities emphasized that the interception occurred while many citizens were attending church services, underscoring their commitment to round-the-clock enforcement. The Benue State Police Command and the Benue State Government were cc’d in the announcement, signaling official coordination.
In the statement, security officials reiterated that there is no place for traffickers in Benue State, and the swift arrest serves as a warning to others engaged in the illegal drug trade. Further details on the suspect’s possible extradition or charges are expected as investigations continue.
