Suspected Fulani militia have launched an attack on Tse Akume village in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State, triggering fresh panic and reports of casualties in the community.
According to local sources, the armed group invaded the village, shooting sporadically and destroying properties. Mr. Peverga Abar, a resident of the village, was reportedly killed during the assault, with fears that the death toll could rise as more information emerges.
The attack occurred amid ongoing security challenges in parts of Taraba State, where rural communities, particularly Tiv settlements, have repeatedly come under threat from armed militias. Tse Akume, like many villages in the Donga axis, has faced recurrent violence linked to farmer-herder conflicts and banditry.
Residents described the situation as shocking and sudden, with many fleeing their homes as the attackers moved through the village. No official casualty figures or detailed security response have been released by authorities at the time of this report.
