Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro Visits Kidnap Victims in Oju, Covers Medical Bills and Warns Against Night Travel

Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro PhD, on Monday, March 2, 2026, visited the 16 victims of a recent kidnapping incident in Igedede, Oju Local Government Area of Benue State.

During the visit, Senator Moro personally took responsibility for settling the medical bills of the rescued victims, demonstrating direct support for those who endured the harrowing experience. He also used the opportunity to caution residents against nighttime travel, emphasizing the heightened risks posed by the prevailing security situation in parts of the senatorial district.

Speaking through representatives—including Hon. Williams Ogboloe Edo (former Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly), Hon. Frank Ode Igbe (former member of the State Assembly), and Chief Ode Enyi (Senior Special Assistant to the Senate President)—Senator Moro strongly condemned the rising wave of kidnappings in Benue South. He described the incidents as unacceptable and pledged his continued advocacy for ordinary Nigerians caught in dire circumstances, particularly victims of abduction and violence.

The senator prayed for the repose of the souls of those who were murdered in cold blood by their abductors during the attack, offering condolences to the bereaved families and the wider community.
