77-Year-Old Man with Dementia Reported Missing in Makurdi

A 77-year-old man, Mr. Nicholas Demato Nor, has been reported missing in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

According to his family, Mr. Nor, who lives with dementia, left his residence at No. 25 Old Otukpo Road, High Level area of Makurdi—near Katsina-Ala Street—between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, and has not returned home since.

He was last seen in the same vicinity. Due to his condition, which can cause confusion and disorientation, there is serious concern for his safety and well-being.

Mr. Nor is described as dark-complexioned, of average height, with no visible tribal marks or physical disabilities. He speaks English, Tiv, and Hausa fluently.

At the time he went missing, he was wearing carton-coloured shorts, a light blue checked button-up shirt, and a brown cap.
