A ₦10 million financial intervention from Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has significantly uplifted the entrepreneurial journey of Comrade Isaac Iordye, a resident of Kwande, who has now launched a well-stocked mechanical supply business in Adikpo.

The grant, part of broader efforts to promote grassroots enterprise and economic self-reliance, enabled Iordye to establish a standard outlet specializing in essential automotive products. The shop now deals in engine oil, machine parts, tyres, tubes, and a range of other mechanical and vehicle maintenance supplies, filling a vital gap in local access to these items.

Iordye described the support as a life-changing turning point. In statements shared publicly, he credited careful financial management, discipline, and dedication for turning the one-time opportunity into a sustainable and growing enterprise. He expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s initiative, noting that the funding arrived at a critical moment and has allowed him to build something enduring for himself and the community.

The business received further momentum through the generosity of Hon. Stephen Uta, who donated an air compressor engine to enhance workshop operations and service delivery. In a video circulating from the launch and early operations, Iordye was seen openly expressing gratitude, repeatedly acknowledging Uta’s contribution as a key factor in strengthening the venture’s capacity.

Local residents in Adikpo have welcomed the new establishment, stating that it has improved convenience by bringing reliable supplies of automotive and mechanical products closer to home. Many noted that the shop is already contributing to increased economic activity in the area, reducing the need for long trips to larger towns for basic vehicle maintenance items.

The success story underscores the potential of targeted empowerment programs in driving small business development and fostering self-reliance at the community level in Benue State. Governor Alia’s administration has emphasized such interventions as part of its broader agenda to support youth and grassroots entrepreneurs, with several similar initiatives reported across different local government areas in recent months.

Iordye’s transformed business stands as a practical example of how strategic financial backing, combined with personal commitment and community support, can create lasting economic impact in rural and semi-urban settings.
