Your Security Is Guaranteed In Benue” – Governor Alia Assures Corps Members

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has assured corps members posted to the state that their safety is guaranteed throughout their one-year service. Speaking during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, the governor acknowledged the security challenges facing the country, noting that Benue has also been affected.

However, he urged the corps members not to be afraid, stating that his administration, in collaboration with security agencies, has put proactive measures in place to protect corps members and their residential areas across the state. Governor Alia also encouraged the corps members to embrace the spirit of national unity, build meaningful friendships and contribute positively to the development of Nigeria.

He further urged them to take the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme seriously, describing it as an opportunity that could open doors to greater opportunities and financial independence. Welcoming the new corps members, the governor said: “Welcome to Benue, our dear corps members. Your service should be memorable, impactful and, most importantly, safe.”
