A report claiming that a woman caught and locked a 100-level student in a room with her husband is currently circulating on social media, causing widespread discussion among residents of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi (JOSTUM).

The claim was shared on Facebook by the group BENUE-FAMILY-FOR-UNITY, with the post asking “How true is this information going round???” while tagging the trending hashtags #JOSTUM and #Confirm.

According to the post, the alleged incident is “happening now in JOSTUM.” It was accompanied by two photographs showing a large crowd of people gathered in what appears to be a rural or semi-urban community with traditional thatched-roof houses and a block building. A motorcycle is also visible in one of the images.
