Unidentified Female Body Discovered in Bush Near BIPLC Off George Akume Way, Makurdi

A decomposing body of a yet-to-be-identified woman has been discovered lying in the bush beside BIPLC (Benue Investment and Property Company Limited) off George Akume Way in Tse-Ayu village, Makurdi, Benue State.

The grim discovery was reported on March 2, 2026, via a social media post by community youth leader D’nnaked Elder Sughnnen Yaaya, who shared details received from his inbox. According to the account, the body—described as that of a lady—was found partially covered on the ground, making facial identification difficult.

The youth leader stated that he immediately notified officers at the E-Division Police Station in Makurdi about the incident. As of the time of the report, police had not yet arrived to recover or secure the scene.

The post urged anyone with a missing female relative or acquaintance to visit the location or contact the E-Division Police Station for possible identification. No further details about the cause of death, estimated time the body had been lying there, or signs of foul play were provided in the initial alert.
