The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended three suspects linked to the abduction and murder of Miss Favour Anzaku, a resident of Ombi Anzaku in Lafia Local Government Area. The tragic incident came to light following a statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, posted on Facebook.
According to Nansel, two of the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation. The breakthrough came after members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) apprehended two individuals, Dahiru Aliyu and Sayyadi Abubakar, and handed them over to the police on Sunday. Acting on intelligence provided by the duo, the police tactical unit arrested a third suspect, Abdumumuni Isah of Angwan Nunku area, Lafia. Isah later led operatives to a location where a locally made rifle, five live cartridges, and the knife used to stab the victim were hidden.
Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, commended the VGN and police operatives for their swift action and collaboration. He urged residents to continue providing credible information to support the fight against crime in the state.
Miss Favour Anzaku succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, October 4, while receiving treatment at the hospital after being stabbed by her abductors during the attack. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter, and further details are expected as the case progresses.
