Terver Akase Claims Samuel Ortom Cleared All Benue State Salaries Before Leaving Office

Controversy has erupted on social media following a statement by Mr. Terver Akase on Arise TV, where he asserted that former Benue State Governor, Hon. Samuel Ortom, cleared all state salaries before departing office.

The claim, shared widely by Alia TV Network and other users, has sparked mixed reactions among Benue residents. While some have praised the alleged achievement, others, including social media commentator Tofi Simon Ternenge, have pushed back, referencing past reports of unpaid pensions and salary arrears during Ortom’s administration. A 2019 Punch newspaper report showing Ortom meeting protesting pensioners and seeking forgiveness has also been recirculated in the ongoing debate.
