In a significant political development, Mr. Uche Temase, a prominent grassroots politician and mobilizer formerly affiliated with the ADC, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement came after a formal meeting with the APC Chairman, marking a notable shift in the region’s political landscape.
Temase’s decision to align with the APC was driven by his admiration for the remarkable leadership and developmental strides of Governor Hyacinth Alia and the administration of Hon. Jonathan Modi, the Executive Chairman of Ukum Local Government. Speaking to supporters, Temase emphasized the need for collective support to sustain the positive changes witnessed across Ukum and the broader Benue State.
“Jonathan Modi is rooted and grounded with local politics; I love his closeness with the community,” Temase remarked, reflecting on Modi’s warm reception in Kyado, Mbatereen, Ukum, where thousands of supporters and party faithful gathered to welcome him. The visit followed an invitation extended to Modi, highlighting Temase’s growing influence within the APC.
Alongside his supporters, Temase pledged to work closely with the Council Chairman to strengthen the APC at the grassroots level. He also committed to supporting the re-election bids of Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo, representing Ukera Federal Constituency, and His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, in the upcoming 2027 elections.
The move has been met with enthusiasm, with Samuel Terkuma Atsua, Special Assistant on Media and Public Communications for the Executive Chairman of Ukum, lauding Temase’s decision as a boost for the APC’s grassroots efforts. As the party gears up for future elections, Temase’s inclusion is seen as a strategic step to consolidate support and drive development initiatives forward.
