SGF Akume Arrives Makurdi for North Central Security Summit

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Dr. George Akume, on Monday arrived in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, ahead of the North Central Security Summit.

Upon his arrival, Akume was received with a full military salute on the tarmac, in a formal welcome befitting his status as the President’s representative. He is in Benue State to stand in for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the high-level regional security meeting.

The summit is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across the North Central region to deliberate on security challenges and explore ways of strengthening peace and stability in the area.
