The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri, has expressed profound gratitude to Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for visiting Otukpo and engaging directly with the people and stakeholders of the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Council and the people of Otukpo Local Government Area, Ogiri described the engagement as a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and people-oriented leadership. He also thanked the Deputy Governor, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, and the Och’Idoma, His Royal Majesty Agabadaidu Pastor John Elaigwu Obagaji Odogbo, alongside members of the Idoma Area Traditional Council, for gracing the occasion with their distinguished presence.
The Chairman extended sincere appreciation to the Member Representing Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Lady Blessing Onuh; the Chairman of the APC in Benue State, Chief Hon. Benjamin Omale, members of his executive committee and other party executives; members of the Benue State House of Assembly; members of the Benue State Executive and Security Council; Local Government Legislators and Supervisory Councilors; and his counterpart, the Executive Chairman of Ohimini Local Government Council, Hon. Adole Gabriel, for their valuable participation and contributions.
He equally appreciated the distinguished members of the Governor’s entourage, particularly former Governor of Benue State, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Suswam; Rt. Hon. Solomon Wombo, Member Representing Ukum/Katsina-Ala/Logo Federal Constituency; all federal lawmakers present; former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titus Uba; and the Jechira elders who accompanied His Excellency on the tour. Ogiri also commended all party members and stakeholders from Otukpo and Ohimini, revered clerics, members of APC Support groups and others for their active participation and support.
The Chairman expressed particular gratitude to those who addressed the gathering and shared thoughtful, constructive and forward-looking perspectives on the development of the constituency and the wellbeing of the people. He noted that their contributions gave the engagement greater depth and meaning and reinforced the importance of sustained dialogue, unity and partnership between government and the people.
Ogiri further commended the members of the various Planning Committees, volunteers and all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the successful coordination of the event. He also appreciated the service provider and the management and staff of Ochacho Hotel for their professionalism, hospitality and cooperation.
In concluding, the Otukpo Local Government Chairman thanked every guest, stakeholder and participant who honoured the invitation and contributed to making the Town Hall Engagement a memorable success. He described the outcome as a testament to what can be achieved when people come together in unity and with a shared commitment to progress, and expressed readiness for continued collaboration towards a more peaceful, united and prosperous Otukpo, Ohimini and Benue State.
