Prof. Alabar Meets Governor Alia to Chart Strategic Direction for MOAU

The Vice-Chancellor of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University (MOAU), Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, on Wednesday held a strategic meeting with Benue State Governor and Visitor to the institution, Hyacinth Iormemem Alia, to discuss the university’s future direction, institutional growth, and required government support.

The session, which took place at the Government House in Makurdi, centered on strengthening academic standards, upgrading infrastructure, expanding academic programmes, and positioning MOAU as a leading state-owned tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Professor Alabar presented a comprehensive briefing on the university’s current state, highlighting key achievements since inception, ongoing reforms, milestones recorded in teaching, research, and community service, as well as critical areas requiring urgent state intervention to sustain momentum and achieve long-term stability.

In response, Governor Alia reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to repositioning tertiary education across Benue State. He assured the university management of continued collaboration and support aimed at realizing MOAU’s vision of academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact. The governor emphasized that a strong, well-resourced public university system remains central to human capital development and the overall progress of the state.
