The Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council, Hon. Maurice Orwough, officially resumed duty today following the successful burial of his late father, Pa Thomas Orwough Atule. The resumption took place at the Council Headquarters in Gbajimba, marking a return to leadership after a period of mourning.
Upon his return, Hon. Orwough received courtesy visits from various dignitaries, including the Committee on State and Local Government Projects Monitoring. The committee was at the council to inspect ongoing and completed projects initiated by the Chairman. During the visit, the team commended Hon. Orwough for his pragmatic leadership and commitment to infrastructural development across the local government area.
In his remarks, Hon. Orwough expressed gratitude for the team’s support and appealed for continued cooperation and recognition of hardworking public officials dedicated to effective public service and grassroots development. He also welcomed staff members, including the Director General Service and Administration, Mrs. Dorcas Shagbaar, the Treasurer, Mr. Jacob Asar, and other administrative staff, who headed to his office to greet him.
Additionally, the Leader of Guma Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Godwin Begi, along with all 10 council legislators, visited to welcome the Chairman back to office. Council Deputy Chairman, Hon. Tersoo Ezra Veem, was also present to witness the resumption of the council chairman.
This return signals a renewed focus on development projects and public service in Guma Local Government.
