Former Benue State Governor, Senator Samuel Ortom, has welcomed the immediate past Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The high-profile defection, which has been described as a major political gain for the PDP in Benue State, was publicly acknowledged during a reception event on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
