Chief Samuel Ortom, immediate past Governor of Benue State and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, on Monday hosted members of the Benue delegation who attended the party’s National Elective Convention at his residence in Abuja.

In his remarks during the breakfast meeting, Ortom appreciated the delegates for conducting themselves peacefully, decently, and in a law-abiding manner during the just-concluded convention, which produced consensus members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to run the affairs of the party for the next four years.

The former governor congratulated the newly elected National Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Abdurahman Mohammed, as well as other members of the National Executive Committee (NEC). He expressed confidence that the convention had laid to rest the lingering crisis within the party.

Ortom noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had already uploaded the convention results on its official portal.

The PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) member assured the delegation that, given the quality of aspirants within the party, the PDP is well-positioned to reclaim power in Benue State in 2027. He also pledged that the party leadership would not impose candidates.
