The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Benue State Command, on Thursday received the newly redeployed Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), CIS GC Nkangwung PCC, on a familiarization visit to the Command Headquarters.
State Commandant of NSCDC, CC LA Bitrus, warmly welcomed the Comptroller and assured her of the Command’s total cooperation in areas of joint operations, intelligence sharing, tracking of illegal immigrants, and other mutual security interests.
CC LA Bitrus emphasized the need for synergy among all security agencies to tackle the common enemy of insecurity in the state.
The Comptroller, while thanking the Commandant, described both services as being “stock of the same family” and pledged to strengthen the existing cordial relationship, particularly in the monitoring of hotels and border areas.
She congratulated the Commandant on the high level of organization and serenity observed at the Command and called for improved collaboration to enhance service delivery.
CC LA Bitrus, however, noted that both services and other sister security agencies must work hard to curb unprofessional conduct and unhealthy rivalry among operatives in the field.
The visit ended with the exchange of souvenirs and a renewed commitment to collaborative efforts in strengthening security across Benue State.
The statement was signed by SC EA Michael, Command Public Relations Officer, for the State Commandant.
