Supporters of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia are celebrating what they describe as a major endorsement from the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leadership.
According to a statement by Tersoo Kula, the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who headed the committee that screened sitting governors, reportedly referred to Governor Alia as his “Favourite Governor” during the exercise.
The post highlighted that the screening committee for sitting governors was distinct from the one that handled other aspirants, emphasizing the special recognition given to Governor Alia.
Party faithful have described the development as a strong affirmation of the governor’s standing within the national structure of the APC. Supporters are now being urged to mobilize at various ward centres to consolidate support for the governor and the party ahead of future political engagements.
The development comes amid ongoing political activities in Benue State as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
