Mount St. Gabriel’s Makurdi Crowned Overall Best School at 2025 Benue Festival of Arts & Culture

Mount St. Gabriel’s Secondary School, Makurdi, has emerged as the Overall Best School at the 2025 Benue State Festival of Arts and Culture, hosted by the State Council for Arts and Culture from October 19-22, 2025. The school’s outstanding performance secured top prizes in essay writing, cultural quiz, arts and crafts, and traditional cuisine, along with accolades for Most Consistent School, Neatest School, and Most Supportive School.

Students Ehooche Joseph Aleehenu, Yongo Benjamin Washima, and Gyundu Gabriel Terver will represent Benue State at the national level. Principal Very Rev. Fr. James Orshoja Utav expressed gratitude to God, the school’s proprietor Bishop Wilfred Anagbe, and staff for their support, reaffirming the school’s motto: “In God Our Strength.”
