Minister Utsev Facilitates Federal Employment for Seven More Benue Engineers, Total Beneficiaries Reach 80

In a significant boost to youth employment in Benue State, the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, has successfully facilitated the recruitment of seven additional engineers from the state into the Federal Civil Service. This latest achievement, announced on January 19, 2026, brings the total number of beneficiaries from Benue State to 80 under his facilitation efforts.

The Minister personally presented letters of employment to the new recruits, emphasizing that the recruitment process was conducted strictly on merit and in full alignment with the commitments of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to create job opportunities for young Nigerians. Prof. Utsev highlighted the Federal Government’s ongoing focus on improving citizens’ welfare, building a prosperous and inclusive nation, and implementing youth-friendly policies and empowerment programmes aimed at lifting millions of youths and women out of poverty while promoting self-reliance.

According to the Minister, this current recruitment exercise marks the first phase for the year, with assurances that more Benue youths and women will benefit in the coming months through additional employment opportunities and empowerment initiatives.

Addressing the newly employed engineers, Prof. Utsev urged them to resume work immediately and to demonstrate dedication, discipline, and professionalism in carrying out their duties. He noted that their commitment would play a key role in contributing to the success of the present administration.

The Minister also called on the people of Benue State to continue supporting and praying for President Bola Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, and other leaders. He expressed confidence that such support would enable these leaders to attract more development projects to the state and the country at large.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Engr. Doofan Mbakor extended heartfelt thanks to the Minister for the opportunity, describing it as a source of renewed hope. Mbakor assured that the new employees would remain committed to diligent service and offered prayers for God’s continued protection and blessings on Prof. Utsev to enable him to achieve even more for the people.
